“Centre of the Universe” is about the wonder, the beauty, the horror, the absurdity and the arbitrariness of existence that you can rock out and dance to, as it takes a critical stab at the religious and philosophical doctrines that concoct narrative and fiction in a futile attempt to give meaning where there is none.
Sonically the song pays homage to the darker sounds of the 80’s hard rock we seem to be obsessed with. A modern interpretation of the era that tends to be the core foundation our artistic vision is non-exclusively built on.
The citing of the influences is retrospective and always a fun activity to engage in after the song is done.
You can hear a bit of this and a bit of that all stemming from an eclectic collection of weirdos, artists and music we love.
